Guide to the March–May 2020 Cancellations

All concerts scheduled at the Veterans Building and Herbst Theatre through May have been canceled in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

To ensure the health and wellness of our community, we’re complying with a series of guidelines to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

This means that some of our performances are canceled and some performances are postponed to a later date.

These performances are canceled:

    Tuesday, March 10
  • Tabea Zimmermann and Javier Perianes
    Friday, March 27
  • Jerusalem Quartet
    Saturday, March 28
  • Edward Simon and Marcos Granados (Salon)

  • Mark Padmore and Marc-André Hamelin
    Monday, April 27
  • Mark Padmore
    Wednesday, April 29
  • Benjamin Appl and James Baillieu
    Wednesday, May 6

These performances are postponed, and we hope to reschedule them for a later date:

  • Alexander String Quartet with William Kanengiser
    Saturday, March 7
  • Alexander String Quartet with Robert Greenberg
    Saturday, March 21 & Saturday, May 16
  • David Russell
    Saturday, March 21
  • Sir András Schiff
    Thursday, March 26
  • Garrick Ohlsson
    Tuesday, March 31
  • Marc-André Hamelin

Plans are underway now to find a new date for each of these postponed performances. Hang on to your tickets. We will notify you as soon as a new date is set. Once the new date is set, no action is required on your part if you’d like to attend the concert. You will keep the same seat location.

If you’d prefer not to wait for the date of a postponed concert, or if you have tickets to a canceled event, here are some options:

  • Credit Towards Our 2020–21 Season
Apply the value of your tickets towards a subscription or a single performance in our 2020–21 season. We’ve just recently announced our 41st season, and offer a number of series subscriptions as well as a Make-Your-Own option.
  • Donate Your Tickets
Consider turning your purchase into a donation to San Francisco Performances. Your support during this uncertain time will help us finish our season strong.
  • Gift Certificate
Apply the value of your ticket towards a gift certificate. You may then use it when you wish or give it to someone else.
  • Refund
You may request a full refund of your ticket purchase.
