About This Performance

This season, in an intensive five-day exploration, in late January, PIVOT celebrates creator-performers on the American artistic edge. The journey begins with L.A. Dance Project which burst on the dance scene in 2012 and has been turning heads with its fresh, contemporary vision of dance and stylistically diverse repertory.

Performer Biography

L.A. Dance Project is a dance company founded in 2012 by choreographer and dancer Benjamin Millepied, along with composer Nico Muhly, art consultant Matthieu Humery, founding producer Charles Fabius and composer Nicholas Britell.

L.A. Dance Project’s mission is to create new work and to revive seminal collaborations from influential dance makers. Programs include full-length evenings in traditional theater venues as well as site specific performances in non-traditional environments. New works by the company endeavor to be multidisciplinary collaborations with visual artists, musicians, designers, film directors and composers. L.A.
