About This Performance
Japan has produced many guitarists celebrated in Europe, Latin America and Asia but are lesser-known in the U.S. This recital is a rare opportunity to hear an artist revered as a grand master in his homeland and in the guitar capitals of the world. Shin-ichi Fukuda is lauded for a subtle, nuanced technique and his ability to make the most demanding music seem spontaneous, and for his use of antique guitars appropriate to the repertoire, to stunning effect.
